Summer time is fast approaching. Whether you are at home or away sunny days mean holidays; the beach, and a woman’s well-known nightmare…finding the perfect swimsuit. However, it doesn’t have to be such a chore! By knowing your body shape, using accessories wisely and working on your confidence you will look and feel amazing in your beach-wear.
Here are 3 simple steps to help you find your perfect swimwear and avoid the nightmare this year.
Step One-Identify Your Body Shape
The easiest mistake to make in finding a swimsuit is to just follow this year’s fashion trend rather than going with a style that suits you. But as there are so many great designs in each style you shouldn’t feel sad if this year’s top trend isn’t your friend. For example, if you have larger hips; go for wide shoulder straps to balance them out. Or, if you have small breasts; go for triangle cut bikini tops as these will go great with your figure.
If you want to hide a tummy, you could try a two tone one-piece with a brightly coloured top (to draw the eye up) and then a block of dark colour from the waist down. Then, you can pick a swimsuit that includes this, in whatever design you want. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable in what you are wearing because when you feel relaxed, you look good.
Compliment your new swimsuit with accessories. A loose kaftan works wonders when hiding a tummy or a sarong is great for covering thighs! These, like swimsuits, come in a huge range of different colours and styles to choose from so you are bound to find one you like.
You could try layering for example. A loose, white semi-see-through kaftan over a dark swimsuit creates the illusion of a smaller shape. Or you could find accessories that go with the style of your swimsuit, for example if you’ve picked a piece with a plunging neckline, draw attention to it with a statement necklace in complimentary colours.
Step Three- Feel Confident!
The best thing about confidence is you can actually ‘fake it till you make it’, because eventually you will forget you are faking it! A good way to help this is to prep your skin, as it will help you feel confident no matter what swimsuit style you are wearing. Treat yourself to a wax to get rid of any unwanted fuzz, apply some fake tan if you would prefer to create a healthy glow, and try using breast augmentation cream to enhance your breasts if you think that this may make you feel more confident- especially good for if you have a low cut swimsuit! Then, keep your head up, shoulders back and get that back straight for good posture, and smile!
Hopefully by following these tips, you’ll love your swimsuit (and how you look while you wear it) this summer! What is your favourite swimsuit and why? Have any of your own tips to share?
