Now that you have started your second year as a college student, you have gotten the hang of life in college. You have an idea of what you want to do with the rest of your life, and you also know which teachers you get along well with. The greatest part of living at school, however, is the fact that you get to spend time bonding with the rest of your sorority sisters.
These ladies are smart, independent and hilarious, and you are lucky to be able to spend time with them. They know what they want out of their futures, and are ambitious enough to go out and get it. Now that you are a part of the sorority, you are able to help make choices about rush and date dashes, and more importantly, help make large decisions about how your university chapter is run. If you have a large chapter, then you know it is beneficial to make yourself known as a leader as soon as possible. This allows you to obtain new responsibilities as you move up the ranks.
Once you have become a leader in your pledge class, you can start thinking about the ways in which you can leave your mark on the sorority, making it better and more appealing for future members. The following are a few ways you can leave your own stamp on the sorority:
1. Suggest new sweatshirts/ hoodies for your chapter.
In a sea of sororities across the campus, you want your sisters to stand out. One of the best ways to do this is to invest in new sweatshirts for the winter season. You can have your Greek letters placed on any color sweatshirt you want as imprinted logos, and then have the sweatshirts delivered to the door of your sorority house. Even after you and the rest of your class graduates, you can cherish the hoodie that signified how much this sorority meant to you.
2. Create new events and traditions for your sisters.
You want your newer members to be excited to be a part of your sorority, so make the traditions and events that they are a part of as exciting as possible. Obviously, there are a few things that you won’t be able to change, as some things are part of your history, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add your own spin on some of the newer rituals and traditions.
3. Create new ways for your sorority to volunteer.
As a leader in your sorority, you know the importance of making sure that you get a lot of positive public relations. This is best done with new volunteering opportunities, in which your sisters reach out to help the community in as many ways as possible.
